Job Description

  • Finalisation of bank reconciliations in HK Insurance in line with IFRS requirements.
  • Prepare/review journals prepared by the team
  • Analyse the schedules, perform variance analysis and investigate the reason for movement and provide suitable commentary
  • Supporting other business areas, controlling the activities prepared by the team before they are reported to Senior Management
  • Plan and forecast team activities (monthly and quarterly), wherever applicable
  • Enable the team to perform activities and empower them with the freedom to speak and do the right thing
  • Build mechanism to track data inconsistencies as early as possible and take remedial steps to correct them
  • Interact at various levels across departments/business areas to get the correct information
  • Build effective feedback mechanism to ensure errors and their root cause are highlighted to senior leadership team and robust
  • Co-ordinate, work-closely with various business partners and stakeholders
  • Drive identification of opportunity for process improvement/re-engineering and standardization towards ensuring efficient and consistent processes
  • To be flexible with duties to manage the peaks in the process
  • Have regular one on ones with the team
  • Have monthly/ weekly meetings with the team
  • Have development plan for all the team members
  • Handle the Audits, PWC, BRCM, internal audit independently
Experience in Insurance Domain/ currently working in Insurance company is a must

Skills/Experience Required

  • Qualified CA/CS/CWA/CPA/CFA/ MBA (Finance)/ PGDBM-Finance with at least 8+ years of post-qualification experience in accounting/reconciliations, financial analysis ability to manage the service delivery of the designated processes
  • Knowledge and expertise of insurance business
  • Should have a team handling experience of minimum 4 years
  • Ability to understand numbers and their impact, drive and achieve accuracies across report deliveries
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Excellent Communication skills Both verbal and written
  • Good analytical skills , an eye for detail and a drive for quality ,statistical skills to study trends, understand and to interpret Numeric information
  • Knowledge of, and experience in planning and organizing techniques as well as in problem solving techniques
  • Global Exposure : Ability to interact with multiple cultures / multi-tasking
  • Flexibility to work in accordance with Business requirements
  • Should be open to shifts and willing to work beyond normal working hours as per the process requirements
